FAQs

Advantage+ health plans

As an Advantage+ health plan participant, do I have to pay a per visit fee for primary care and therapy?

No, 98point6 visits are zero-cost for all participants in 2024. There may be costs associated with lab work and prescriptions, depending on your insurance coverage.

On December 29, 2022, President Biden signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023. This law includes a provision that allows Boeing to continue to offer 98point6 virtual care visits at zero-cost in 2023 and 2024 for all participants, including those enrolled in the Advantage+ health plan. Employers have the option to adopt the new provision, and Boeing decided to adopt it to further invest in the health and well-being of our employees and their families.

Eligibility

Which Boeing employees and retirees are eligible for 98point6 primary care services? Are dependents eligible, too?

Through December 31, 2023, all U.S. employees who are eligible to participate in a Boeing-sponsored health plan, including BAO, Boeing Distribution Inc. and Boeing Digital Solutions Inc., are eligible for 98point6 primary care services, even if they are not enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan. Effective January 1, 2024 U.S. employees must be enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan to be eligible for 98point6. If an employee participates in a Boeing-sponsored health plan, their spouse/domestic partner and dependents aged one or older are eligible if they are enrolled in the employee’s Boeing-sponsored health plan.

In addition, all U.S. retirees who are not eligible for Medicare and are enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan are also eligible for 98point6. A retiree’s spouse/domestic partner and dependents age one or older are eligible if they are enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan and are not eligible for Medicare, even if the retiree is Medicare-eligible and not eligible for 98point6.

As a Boeing employee, can I set up 98point6 accounts for my dependents?

To access care, your covered dependents ages 1-17 should use 98point6 directly through your account as the primary subscriber. Your covered spouse/domestic partner or covered dependents age 18 or older will need to set up their own accounts to access care.

I’m a retiree. Can my dependents set up accounts?

Your spouse (or domestic partner, if applicable) and dependents age one or older are eligible if they are enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan and are not eligible for Medicare, even if you are Medicare-eligible and not eligible for 98point6.

Can I continue to use 98point6 after my employment at Boeing ends?

Coverage continuation for 98point6 is automatically included with medical coverage if you elect
COBRA continuation for your medical plan. 98point6 services will not be available following
active coverage until such time that your COBRA election (if elected) is received and processed.

If my 98point6 coverage was part of my Banner|Aetna HMO election, do I have to enroll in COBRA for medical coverage to be eligible for 98point6?

No, you will be enrolled in COBRA coverage for 98point6 automatically, and Boeing will pay the full cost of COBRA continuation for 98point6 coverage. You will be responsible for any out-of-pocket costs or copayments for 98point6 on-demand care if you utilize the service—regardless of your decision to continue your medical coverage through COBRA.

Are my covered spouse/domestic partner and children eligible for 98point6 after my active coverage ends?

If your spouse/domestic partner or children are enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored medical plan when your employment with Boeing ends, they will also be automatically enrolled in COBRA coverage for 98point6, and Boeing will pay the full cost of COBRA for 98point6. Your dependents will be responsible for any copayments associated with 98point6 on-demand care if they utilize the service. Their coverage will continue until they are no longer eligible for COBRA. Complete information about COBRA coverage will be included in the paperwork you receive after your employment ends.

Behavioral Health

Who is eligible for 98point6 behavioral health services? Are dependents eligible too?

Through December 31, 2023, U.S. employees who are eligible to participate in a Boeing-
sponsored health plan, including BAO employees, are eligible for 98point6 behavioral health
services, even if they are not enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan. Effective January
1, 2024, U.S. employees must be enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan to be eligible
for 98point6 behavioral health services. If an employee participates in a Boeing-sponsored
health plan, their spouse/domestic partner and adult dependents age 18 or older are eligible
for 98point6 therapy services. Eligible adolescent dependents ages 12-17
have access to therapy sessions if they are enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan and
located in AZ, CA, IL, MO, SC and WA.

In addition, all U.S. retirees who are not eligible for Medicare and are enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan are eligible for 98point6 behavioral health services. A retiree’s spouse/domestic partner and adult dependents age 18 or older and adolescent dependents ages 12-17 are also eligible if they are enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan and are not eligible for Medicare, even if the retiree is Medicare-eligible and not eligible for 98point6.

Which behavioral health concerns does 98point6 support for adults (18+)?

Some of the issues 98point6 can support are listed below. If you, your spouse/domestic partner or dependents are dealing with a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1.

Conditions that may be addressed in therapy include, but are not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Adjustment disorders
  • Acute stress disorders
  • Relationship challenges
  • Medication adherence monitoring

The 98point6 care team, including board-certified physicians, may recommend a self-referral to an in-person primary care physician, a specialist, urgent care or ER if unable to provide virtual care for a specific patient case or if it is in the best interest of the patient. Conditions that may result in a referral for treatment include more complex emotional health conditions such as substance use disorder, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia or those requiring controlled medications, such as ADHD.

What services does 98point6 provide for adolescent dependents (12-17)?

Currently, therapy sessions for adolescent dependents are only available to covered dependents located in six states (AZ, CA, IL, MO, SC and WA).

Therapy visits are scheduled and occur over video and require parent/guardian consent, and minor assent, to treatment at the initial therapy visit. There will be no clinical contact via text-based communication for therapy and services are only available in English at this time. Prescribing psychiatric medications for children is currently out of the scope of practice for all 98point6 physicians.

The parent(s)/guardian(s) will be required to attend at least the beginning of the initial assessment session with the therapist in order to provide consent to treatment and any relevant background information. The length of the initial assessment visit will be approximately 55 minutes, and the frequency of follow-up sessions and level of participation of the parent(s)/guardian(s) will be determined based upon the clinical judgment of the therapist and agreed upon by the patient and parent/guardian. Most follow-up sessions will be 45 minutes in length and may require the parent/guardian to be present.

Adolescents who are emancipated or are in the care of a government agency (child protective services, department of human services, foster care, shelter care) are not eligible for services at this time.

Can my therapist prescribe medications if I need them?

All prescriptions that are medically necessary for adult patients (18+) will be prescribed by a 98point6 physician or nurse practitioner (NP); adolescent patients (12-17) will not be eligible for prescriptions. The physician or NP will have a license in the state where you’re located and will follow the 98point6 clinic prescription policy. 98point6 licensed therapists are responsible for knowing this policy and supporting medication adherence (e.g., supporting patients to take medication as prescribed by PCP or NP; communicating medication concerns to 98point6 primary care physicians). Therapists possess understanding of common behavioral health prescription side effects, and report them to the physician or NP if there are safety concerns for ongoing prescription management. Any prescriptions ordered by a 98point6 physician or NP will be covered in accordance with your health plan.

Please note: 98point6 prescription policy limits specific psychiatric medications. If you need that level of care, you may be recommended to self-refer to a psychiatrist.

Can I send my visit record to another therapist or my doctor?

If you would like your 98point6 behavioral health record sent to another provider, you can download the medical record request form and send the completed form, along with a copy of your state-issued ID, to support@98point6.com. 98point6 will then send your behavioral health records to the provider you have listed.

Using 98point6

Who provides the care?

The clinic includes a care team led by US board-certified physicians, along with board-certified nurse practitioners (NPs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and certified medical assistants (CMAs).

Most patients will continue to be seen by a 98point6 board-certified physician or nurse practitioner based on their chief complaint; however, there may be some instances where a medical assistant or registered nurse may be assigned to support administrative needs, such as facilitating prescriptions, lab orders and work notes or helping triage patients to appropriate in-person care for concerns that 98point6 does not treat.

Patients will be introduced to their care team member when they join the visit, and the patient will be asked for their permission to continue. If a patient prefers to interact with a physician, they will be placed back into the waiting room or otherwise triaged appropriately to have their clinical concerns addressed.

Can I get care or ask questions about the coronavirus (COVID-19)?

Yes, the 98point6 clinic care team including board-certified physicians, are available to answer your questions or provide care as your first line of defense 24/7, even in the comfort of home. By not going to a doctor’s office, Urgent Care Center or ER, you can avoid long wait times and unnecessary exposure to COVID-19 or anything else that could make you ill.

Boeing provides regular updates and information about the coronavirus online at boeing.com/covid19.

What are some common conditions 98point6 can treat?

Non-work-related illnesses or conditions 98point6 can treat include, but are not limited to:

  • Cough/cold
  • Itchy or sore throat
  • Rashes
  • Seasonal allergies
  • Muscle sprains and strains
  • Pink eye
  • Stomach flu/gastroenteritis

How does 98point6 handle prescriptions?

If a prescription is part of your treatment plan, they’ll send it electronically to your preferred pharmacy. 98point6 does not prescribe controlled substances (such as opioids) or lifestyle medications (such as Viagra or Propecia).
Prescriptions ordered by a member of the 98point6 clinic care team will be reimbursed in accordance with your health plan. You will need to provide your insurance information when you are picking up your prescription.

How does 98point6 handle lab tests?

If a 98point6 board-certified physician or nurse practitioner (NP) determines that lab work is necessary, they will order a lab test. The tests are typically ordered through Quest or LabCorp, but if one of those labs is not available, or you have a different preference, the 98point6 care team member will work with you to send the order to another lab. When your results are ready, 98point6 will reach out to you to set up a visit to review the results when it’s convenient.

Labs ordered by 98point6 will be reimbursed in accordance with your health plan. You will need to provide your insurance information when you visit a lab.

Can I send my visit record to another physician?

If you would like your medical record sent to another provider, you can download the medical record request form and send the completed form, along with a copy of your state-issued ID, to support@98point6.com. 98point6 will then send your medical records to the provider you have listed.

Is my health information secure?

Your privacy is extremely important to Boeing and 98point6, and the 98point6 product is built to be HIPAA compliant. Additionally, communications with 98point6 are encrypted, and your medical record is stored securely. They’ve established an information security management system based on ISO 27001, the most recognized information security management standard in the world. They also undergo SOC 2 audits annually.

98point6 is committed to continually improving the visit experience for patients. The privacy and security of your information is the top priority for 98point6 and any recorded information will be handled in accordance with HIPAA and will only be used to improve the patient experience.

Does 98point6 support languages other than English?

Yes, 98point6 offers support for other languages during a visit. The 98point6 clinic care team, which includes board-certified physicians/doctors are supported by interpreters in over 350 languages who connect with the patient via audio within the app to assist with your medical evaluation. Other parts of the 98point6 experience, including the Automated Assistant and your Care Plan, are currently only available in English.

Why is my visit starting with a medical assistant (MA) or registered nurse (RN) instead of a physician?

Most patients will continue to be seen by a 98point6 board-certified physician based on their chief complaint; however, there may be some instances where a medical assistant or registered nurse may be assigned to support administrative-related visits, such as facilitating prescriptions, lab orders and work notes or helping triage patients to appropriate in-person care for concerns that 98point6 does not treat.

Patients will be introduced to their MA or RN provider when they join the visit and will require the patient’s permission to continue. If a patient prefers a physician, they will be placed back into the waiting room unless their care needs are more urgent, in which case the clinic support team member will pass the patient directly to the next available 98point6 physician.

Pediatrics

How do I request care for my child who is under the age of 18?

If you are an employee, retiree or spouse/domestic partner who is enrolled in a Boeing-sponsored health plan and have a 98point6 account set up, you can request care for your covered child, by visiting as you normally would. A list of your eligible dependents who are age 1–17 will appear. Select the dependent for whom you’re seeking care and complete the child’s profile. Next, the automated assistant will gather information about the child’s symptoms and will then deliver the information to one of the 98point6 clinic care team members, which includes board-certified physicians/doctors. The physician or nurse practitioner (NP) will have a text-based conversation with you about your child’s symptoms, using audio, video or photos as needed. For primary care services for younger children (i.e., age 1 to 5), the physician or NP will likely request a brief video encounter.

Children aged 12-17 are eligible for 98point6 primary care and therapy services only and require the parent/guardian to provide consent and initiate the first visit. Please see the behavioral health FAQ section for additional detail.

If you need help

I set up my 98point6 account and do not see my dependents ages 1–17 that I cover on my Boeing-sponsored health plan listed. Who can I contact to address this issue?

You will see your covered dependents when you start a visit as you normally would within the 98point6 app. A list of your eligible dependents who are age 1–17 will appear. If you have followed these steps and your dependents are not showing, you can call Worklife at 866-473-2016. Have your BEMSID and Worklife password available. When prompted, say, “Health & Insurance.” A service representative can answer questions. If you retired before 2011, call 866-504-4256 and follow the same steps.
